Freelancers Need Temporary Office Space Options

Demand for temporary office space for freelancers is now increasing as contract work continues to be a growing trend in Australia and the US.

Independence and job security

In my parents’ day, students were encouraged to get a steady job at the age of 65 in a bank or government with a steady income and possibly a pension.

No job is safe from Gen Xers. As we go through the global financial crisis, they have to worry about whether the banks that pay high salaries will be there next year.

Risk management is important for companies and the self-employed as the job and business market is changing rapidly. To test a new project, the company signs short-term contracts for employees, services and temporary office space. It makes serviced office housing very attractive.

The wave of freelancers

Giving up a long-term job to become an independent consultant can be both exciting and distressing. Working for yourself every day gives you certain choices: where to work, how much work to do, or to work. If you depend on hourly wages, you should consider how you will pay for health insurance, vacation, and sick leave.

In a Reuters article comparing the boom in contract work to the new industrial revolution, author Sara Horowitz suggests we need a new safety net support system for independent contractors that gives them the benefits of traditional work models.

outsourcing

There are plenty of bloggers on the internet offering advice on how to get rid of your boss and get free. Sounds great, but if you trade one boss for seven customers, you might find that you’ve actually recruited seven new bosses.

Some of them aren’t really interested in having to pay your rent at the end of the month, and paying your bills can be slow.

The rapid growth of job posting sites (“Elance”, “99designs” and “Fiverr” are just a few) has supported the growth of the freelance market. Through such job boards, employers can get immediate access to technical support without the expense and responsibilities of a full-time employee. Job seekers benefit from viewing a wide variety of offers and securing payment through their managed account system.

According to Wikipedia, the US and UK together account for 50% of outsourced jobs, while the Philippines, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh provide 50% of contract workers. More than 10% of freelancers are based in the United States.

More home-based businesses

According to Digital Trends Research Service In-Stat, rising trends in freelancing and working from home will lead to a more than 44 percent increase in smartphone purchases in small and home offices from 2010 to 2015. As official U.S. statistics no longer include independent workers, there are no official statistics. However, In-Stat expects more than 14 million people to work from home full-time by 2008. This is a huge market.

temporary office space

When you work for yourself, you can easily operate from your home office, coffee shop or customer office. However, for multi month contracts it may be worth taking up temporary office space and if you are in our area we are willing to provide you with a serviced office in Perth. As a virtual office we can provide you with print and website addresses.

Opportunities for a free economy

One thing is certain, the trend towards self-employment is upwards. Vendors in the community, including mobile devices, communications technology, home office equipment, service offices, and temporary office space businesses, will benefit from this trend as the Internet and home businesses continue to grow.
